The Messina Opera Film Festival further enriches its program with new initiatives and measures aimed at fostering a transparent and constructive dialogue on the topics of respect and environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The goal is to promote and spread good practices, while always keeping the importance of these issues alive, aware that even a small contribution can be part of a greater change.
Below are the actions we are implementing to reduce waste and encourage sustainable practices.
The electricity needed for screenings and interior lighting of the Laudamo Hall will be supplied by a modular and mobile photovoltaic system in the shape of a triangle, thanks to the collaboration with Renova srl.
At the festival venues, waste sorting is carried out with appropriate signage to facilitate proper management.
Audience members and guests will have access to a free filtered water station to refill their own bottles and those provided by the organization. Alternatively, biodegradable paper cups will be used.
The selected hotels for guests are located in the city center, near the screening venues, to minimize travel. Additionally, thanks to the partnership with Formula Tre, festival guests will travel aboard hybrid vehicles.
All festival locations are easily accessible on foot, by bicycle, or via public transportation. Routes are properly marked on the website and promotional materials. We encourage the use of public transport by providing schedules and contact information on the website.
The production of paper materials has been reduced by 95%. An online portal containing QR codes will be installed, allowing attendees to download the program, flyers, and the catalog. All festival promotion is digital.
In this edition, the Messina Opera Film Festival also supports initiatives of sustainable and responsible economy, strengthening its commitment to a greener and more conscious future.
We are also committed to conducting specific awareness campaigns on environmental sustainability for staff, guests, and attendees through dedicated meetings, signage, and spots.
