DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY
David Casals-Roma (Lleida, Spain, 1972) studied Film and Media at the Birkbeck University
of London and has participated in different screenwriting and directing workshops with
Pixar creatives (United States), at the London Film School and in Italy with the Palm d’Or
winner Abbas Kiarostami. He has written and directed several short films, documentaries
and corporate videos, and his work has received more than 130 awards. As a writer he has written short stories, theatre and poetry, winning several awards. His first novel “21 days of rage” won the Morella Negra Award given to the Best Thriller Book published in Spain in 2021 by a first-time writer. His second novel “Where Giants Die” was Finalist at the prestigious Azorín Novel Award. David is also the director of the film school ECCIT based in Lleida (Spain) where he works as a screenwriting and directing teacher. He also teaches documentary and filmmaking techniques at the University of Amherst-Massachusetts in the United States.
