Il breve viaggio del piccolo Omero 2025
Simonetta Pisano
Through a dreamlike journey, dreams and reality intersect redundantly without following any chronological timeline. Like the jarring notes of an out-of-tune piano, three painful events mark the life, soul and career of Maria Callas, one of the greatest voices in opera. It is opera itself, a source of inspiration, that accompanies and unites the pain of “La Divina” with the story told in Puccini's opera Suor Angelica, which provides its soundtrack. In this poetic musical masterpiece by Puccini, the sounds, sometimes soft and melancholic, sometimes bright and transcendent, through musical ekphrasis, enhance the film's narrative, punctuating, scene after scene, the psychological and emotional state of the singer, thus creating a visual and auditory portrait that, through an aesthetic experience, leads the viewer to “feel” the essence of the human pain of a woman, a diva, a mother.
